It's better down here. Alone.
He began to hear voices. Often waking to a distant, deep calling from somewhere on the property.
In 2002, award-winning novelist Colin May purchased a home high in the Hollywood Hills. It was everything he dreamed of, and it even came with a 1960s bomb shelter in the garden, which he planned to turn into a private wine vault.
Things didn't go as planned.
Working on his latest book, loosely based on the disappearance of his famous artist father, Colin becomes incapable of separating fact from fiction. Within weeks of moving in he begins to hear voices, see images, often waking to a distant, deep calling from somewhere on the property.
His novel grows in its intensity as his imagination and terror wreak havoc with his grasp on reality. All those around him, his nephew, his agent, his husband, try desperately to help Colin return. But the calling, the voices from the bomb shelter are growing louder.
Louder.
Louder.
Louder.
All those around him tried desperately to help Colin return to reality.
He finished the book.
